&lt;p&gt;Here's a story on how to get paid twice. Who doesn't relish that thought?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;PR companies in London are stealing the business of traditional agencies.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;With PR briefings they get to know a client and gain an idea of what's required in terms of corporate or product messaging.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Brilliant opportunists that they are, freelance planners and creatives are hired to fulfill client needs.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So many of those lucky PR beggars now have two revenue streams from a client. PR and advertising.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If I were in PR over there I'd add a third revenue stream. With a shoe shine concession.&lt;/p&gt;

Wow.  You write that  this is the optimum amount to achieve a balance of frequency before achieving a spam level.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Honestly, if you are using social media and repeating a message 4-5 times a day to reach a user through their feed, you will be dropped faster than a bad habit.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Scott, your reach potential is through the notion of Transistive Trust. Meaning utlizing the right content strategy that resonates with your membership, that will incent them to pass it along to their friends. They will interact with the brand the way they want to and yes they are interested in you.  They just don't want you to take over their lives.  They have their TV's to do that.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Building a large following and then hitting that fan base with repeated messaging just won't work.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Especially inside Facebook.  Where the algorithm is pushing well-recieved and relevant updates into a News Feed and keeping a Live feed as the secondary. I believe one of the key differences is engagement.  Social media isn't just about impressions, but it's about engaging the community and actively participating.  Once a brand has established itself as a PART of the community, not a broadcaster into it, then it has a better chance for success.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Plus, it is always important to remember that social media is just another channel in the marketing tool kit.  It's important to integrate social media marketing into the overall mix. We now have the opportunity to reach more people than ever before on behalf of our brands, and this is thanks to social media.&lt;/p&gt;
